Welcome to Hillcrest AIDS Centre Trust

At the heart of HACT’s mission lies our unwavering commitment to caring for those facing life-limiting illnesses such as AIDS and cancer. Through our Othandweni Hospice and Palliative Care Unit and community health programmes, we provide comfort, dignity, and holistic support to patients and their families during some of life’s most difficult moments.

For many, Othandweni, meaning “Place of Love” in isiZulu, is a home away from home. Here, our team of dedicated nurses, carers, counsellors, and volunteers offer 24-hour care, ensuring that every patient receives the medical, emotional, and spiritual support they deserve. Families are welcomed with warmth and respect, and each life is treated with compassion and grace.

Our 24-bed inpatient unit provides professional palliative care to adults and children who are terminally ill or in need of respite during treatment. Patients are cared for in a peaceful environment, surrounded by kindness and dignity.
